ST. BERNARD'S BIG REUNION DAY FOR FORMER STUDENTS.

St Bernard’s Convent School organised a
‘Big Reunion’ day for former students on
Saturday, 29
th. April.
It was a fantastic success and the lovely sunny weather inspired many to have a picnic in the grounds before the reunion proper took place.
Along with the hundreds of students were many past and present staff as well as sisters from Slough and Hyning.

Apart from an open air Mass in July this was the
last reunion with the Sisters on site

Sr. Mary Helen, Prioress General, made a poignant,
but amusing speech and John McAteer head teacher,
recounted humorous incidents from the past.
Following a musical interlude the whole assembly
gave a strident performance of the school song.

The former students and their friends
had reminiscent strolls around the
classrooms with individual areas
designated as meeting points
for the different years.

Everyone went away with a happy feeling of elation at having met old friends but tinged
with the awareness that nothing is for ever and it’s the end of a very special era in Slough.

Watch for details of the open air Mass.
