Dear Webmaster
This website is excellent. Why can't my parish
have one? But I better not tell you which parish
I come from,
Yours sincerely
Maureen Waters |
Thanks
Maureen, spread the word!
11/5/03
Dear Webmaster,
I think I should win the bottle of whiskey or
I'll tell which parish Maureen Waters is from.
Kieran McKeown |
What
shall I do, Maureen?
11/5/03
Dear Webmaster!
I'd better win the chocolates - or else!
EVERYBODY else seems to have a mention on the
website EXCEPT the UCM - pillars of the parish!
To be honest, I don't think many of the existing
(grand)mothers have access to the Web but we are
hoping to have a recruitment drive and our target
group is going to be Mums in their 40s or 50s -
and these enlightened souls may have access.
Could we put a welcoming letter on to 'test the
water'? Also we could put our diary on,
too?
I love the website!
Ann Budd |
Ann, Anyone who
loves my website can have my chocolates any day! And
believe me, there are lots of silver surfers out there -
I'm one, though not necessarily a grandmother. We'll
certainly get the UCM on line a.s.a.p. I'll reply to you
separately about that. The web site as we look at it now
is, hopefully only the beginning. We want it to be
interactive and cover everything that's going on in the
parish - and beyond. But we need everyone's input. Please
make contact with me or Fr. Kevin who has the final
say. Bernard.
12/5/03
Well done Bernard an excellent job - just like
you did for my wesite(anybody out there needs a
website this is the man for you!).Well done Anita
and Steven on the birth of you baby daughter
Jasmine.(look forward to those sleepless nights)
Ray and Mary .................(there's a photo of
Jasmine's christening in the family page)) |
O.K. You've
earned the free pint. And like both of you, I wish Steven
and Anita all the best. I know all about those sleepless
nights. The crying at three o'clock in the morning
seeking attention. Having to struggle downstairs to make
her food and then burp her -- and that was only the wife!
12/5/03
Hi!
Thank you very much for putting up all the
details about the confirmation day. There
is an inpoint straight to the Slough deanery info
page : www.nymo.org/slough which might make it
easier for people to find the information they
need.Thanks again,
Avril |
Many
thanks, Avril, the link has been updated on your page.
Send us a good detailed report on how the day went.
12/5/03
A very nice website. I
propose we ask the Bishop to bless it.
Regards
Andrew Wheeler |
A
good idea Andrew. With my iffy knowledge of web design I
could do with a bit of help from above.
Andrew also features in our family fun page.
13/5/03
What a brilliant website. Loved the
mugshots of the criminals at the
beginning. I think white suits you better
Kevin. Good luck to Holy Family in the
golf on Thursday.
Show them what we're
made of in Langley.
Teresa Mynett |
|
And so say all of us. Hopefully Fr. Kevin will update us at
the weekend
14/05/03
What a wonderful site! I've really enjoyed
looking at all the different pages.
I looked at the stations of the cross. It was
very good to look at them in quiet of my home -
to consider each one, and to think how fortunate
we are as a parish, to have not only such
talented people, but such generous ones too.
May I ask people to remember in their prayers all
our students as they start their exams, and for a
safe trip for yr 6 when they go to La Fosca this
weekend.
yours sincerely,
Catherine Franke. |
Thank
you Catherine for your kind remarks.
I'm afraid I know nothing about the yr.6 trip to La
Fosca. Please, someone, lets have more details - fast!
And plenty of photos of the trip!
14/5/03
Hi Uncle Kieran!!!
From what I have seen of the website it looks
very impressive!
What about having a picture of the church
somewhere??? or is there one and I just never saw
it???
If I win could I have
the box of chocolates as I don't drink
whisky
Jenny Franke |
Hi,
Jenny, there is a nice photograph of the Church on this
site. Once you leave this page click on the
' History of The Holy Family' The picture you
see is actually made up of 3 photos joined together.
Good luck in the draw and keep writing in to us. - Bernard.
14/5/03
Well done on the Website.
Good to see that the parish is trying for new
members from cyberspace. Hope you get plenty of
'hits'. Best wishes,
James Rice |
Thank you, James and spread the word.
15/5/03
Dear Webmaster
I have just found your new website.
Congratulations. Most impressive.
Best wishes
Ryan |
Hi,
Ryan. If you've any ideas about developing this site, let
us have them.
16/5/03
Hi uncle Kieran,
The website is looking good. Unfortunately, Jenny
somehow missed the HUGE photo of the church on
the first page, but that's Jenny for you. If
Jenny does win the draw, don't give her the
whisky - as I can think of many others that will
gladly drink it.
Well done Bernard, you've done a good job. I
think Andrew Wheelers idea was good.
Kind regards
Marcel |
Hello,
Marcel. Andrew's letter has been listed now for 4 days
but so far no word from the Bishop.
but he's bound to read this page eventually...........
16/5/03
Congratulations! What a brilliant and
inspired website !!!
Having 'viewing parties' and your fame is
spreading - ex Holy Family Parishioners in the
US, Down-Under. etc., are also enjoying the
privilege and happy memories ! Keep up the
good work and God bless you.
Gemma Meik |
Thank
you for your kind remarks, Gemma. If there is anyone
visiting our site from outside the U.K.we offer you a
warm Langley welcome, but please don't just browse the
site, e-mail us and tell us all about yourself and where
you are, as I can't always tell from web based addressed
mail which country your sending it from. e-mail me a
photo of yourself or family and let's really make use of
the web site. It would be wonderful if we had to start an
international guestbook!
| 16/5/03 |
Dear
Webmaster,
The Stations of the Cross are
inspired and the Parish is
blessed to have such talented
artists.Holy Family also has the
best looking Parish Worker in the
Diocese and I think he deserves
to win the whiskey.
Elizabeth Knight |
|
|
Er,
just checking that Elizabeth Knight isn't an anagram of
Kieran McKeown, particularly after receiving our 2nd.
letter at the top. I certainly agree with your first
sentence, Elizabeth, though I'll pass on the 2nd.and ask
what our ladies think??
16/5/03 .......Wow!
Evangelism - Brilliant & Bold ; Richard.................
|
Precise
& to the Point.Thank you, Richard.
16/5/03
Excellent!!!! I love this! It is really
comprehensive. I peeked at it before it was
officially announced (shhhhh), but WOW, you have
done a fantastic job! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Anon |
Well,
we're up and running and hopefully we will continue to
build it up with the help of everyone's input.
17/5/03
Congratulations on the new web-site - a fantastic
job. (I suppose I'll have to come up with a
Servers' page now!??)
Best wishes, Kevin Hyland
P.S. As you can probably tell from my waistline -
mine's the chocs! |
Hi, Kevin, I don't know
you personally to comment about your waistline but
mine has certainly expanded a bit too much recently. I
remember some years ago the club used to have a keep fit
night. Maybe it's time some of the fit young ladies in
the parish started it up again for the sake of us
flabbies - though I've just pictured some of my club
colleagues in lycra and I've gone right off the idea!
Seriously, if you have any ideas for a one off feature or
a regular page on the site let's have the details and if
Fr. Kevin gives it the thumbs up then we go for it - Bernard
17/5/03
Kieran do I have to call you Webmaster from
now on? Why did you change your name? Have you
won the lottery ? Your secret is safe with
me. Do not change the motor bike for a Rolls just
yet.
Vroom Vroom
Eithne. |
Sorry,
Eithne, I'm the Webmaster, Kieran is too busy
becoming the site pin-up - I'm only teasing him. He
beavers away behind the scene rounding up all the info
for the site and everything arrives accurately and on
time-B.
17/5/03
Hi Bernard,
Its good to see your site up and running,
it looks to be a good and helpful site, I must
use some of your very good ideas for St
Peters!!
Keith Williams |
Many
thanks, Keith. Your link is on our menu page but here it
is again.: St
Peter Apostle Church, Rushden
17/5/03
Dear Bernard,
Are you casting aspersions at my dear wife's
taste in Parish Workers? I hope you increase the
size of your guest page as I am certain there
will be a deluge of answers to your challenge!
Congratulations to the Holy Family, Langley Golf
Team who won the Thomas á Becket Spring Cup
yesterday. Well done!
Kieran |
Don't
Start! I'm in enough trouble over this. The golf win was
brilliant. Maybe you'll be able to round up the facts
from some of the team and we can publish the full story
on the site. Thanks - B.
17/5/03
Your web site is fantastic! We have a web
site at our church here in the States, but I
think yours is much better!
I especially enjoyed looking at the Stations of
the Cross. I agree; they are a wonderful
way to meditate on the scriptures of Jesus'
passion, death, and resurrection.
From Chicago, Illinois
Elizabeth Stock ....................... |
Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for your
e-mail. It's brilliant to receive one from overseas. I
did try to reply to you personally but your e-mail
address rejected my attempts. I was hoping to encourage
you to give us more info about your relationship with
Langley / Holy Family etc., - and the web address of your
local Church.
We all hope you'll keep in touch.- Bernie
and the Websiters.
17/5/03
WHAT A SURPRISE to read my humble
contribution in your Visitors' Book !!!
THANK YOU.., but I really don't think I should
oblige with a mug shot as requested as I am very
well known in Holy Family since its foundation
and dread to think how I would shock all my
friends even from cyberspace !!!
I will however, with pleasure, come back with
comments received from past Parishioners from the
US and Aussi.and can report, by return, from the
US which reads as follows:
'Had fun with your new Holy
Family website. Looking at the paintings on
the Choir Loft and the New Stations of the Cross
- great links ... '
several other very complimentary remarks.
Good start I feel and look forward to more
promising comments. Sufficient for the
moment - agreed ?!
God Bless and continued success and inspiration -
O yes, one more thing ... don't forget the UCM -
pillars of the Church as Ann Budd reminded you !
Gemma Meik. |
Thank you very much for
your e-mail, Gemma. Keep us up to date. I e-mailed Ann on
the 11th after receiving her e-mail so hopefully she is
putting together a package of information for me about
the UCM. As soon as I receive it I'll start on an
exclusive page for them. -
18/5/03
Dear
Fr. Kevin,
Just to assure you that some of the community,
unlike Sr. Mary Stella, are
able to access the site! (needed to be at Mass
this Sunday to understand
this!) The site looks great and will be really
helpful to our students when
they do their parish projects.
Sr
Michaela |
Thank
you for your e-mail Sr Michaela. Hopefully your students will send us in bits and pieces to keep the site
moving and changing - B
18/5/03
Hello!
Well done, the website is great- even the dodgy
picture of the headteacher!!!
The website is very attractive and easy to
follow.
Hope we win the prize!

Hello,
Great work on the website, it's well put together
and easy to navigate. I'll certainly be adding it
to my favourites list. Keep up the good work.
Sean Connolly |
Hi, Sean. Thank you for your comments. Good luck
in the draw.
18/5/03
Dear Bernard,
Thank you for your email. As you probably
know by now, Mary Lou is my sister. I am a
Catholic school teacher, fourth grade.
You indicated in your message that you would like
the address to my parish's web site.
Just click on the site below and it should take
you there. I repeat that I think yours is
fantastic!
From "The Windy City"
Elizabeth Stock |
'The Windy City'! I'm so old I remember
Doris Day singing that in Calamity Jane. Anyway, I woke
up this morning a happy little bunny until I clicked on
to your web site. I've been comfort eating ever since.
It's a brilliant professional job. I would suggest that
anyone who has sound on their system should click on the
site then scroll down to Inspirational Music - there are
some nice pieces - the Battle Hymn is my favourite. Thank
you Elizabeth, and keep in touch. - B

Congratulations on your website, which has many
good ideas that we can use here in the northern
end of the diocese. I am passing on the
link to our webmaster. We are at this moment
engaged in a parish Mission, but engaging in
mission in cyberspace is clearly an important
development. Every blessing for its continued
success.
Fr Andrew Behrens. |
Thank you Fr. Andrew, I have now added St.
Gregory's site to our menu page
18/5/03
Dear Webmaster
What a fantastic job you have done on this
web-site. Thanks to the webmaster himself for
producing an excellent photograph of Jasmine,
(there's nothing like a head start in life !).
We would like to thank all of our friends at the
Holy Family Club for their cards, gifts and
warmest wishes on the birth of our daughter
Jasmine.
Regards, Stephen & Anita & Jasmine

Don't I know you from somewhere?!! This very
friendly couple are well liked in the club and
the area
- no wonder they got so many cards and gifts!!
Jasmine's christening photo is in the family pageB |

I visited your church recently and I was struck
by your Stations of the Cross. I now see them on
your website. I found myself stopping before the
Stations and thinking "How did Jesus feel
then?" and as a mother I thought "How
must Mary have felt?" They made me think in
a way that I had not done for a long time.
Congratulations to the artists involved. You have
real talent in your midst.
Yours sincerely

Thank you for your e-mail, Caron. Anyone who
hasn't visited their page can click

Of course we have the best looking Parish Worker,
I was part of the interview panel and he was by
far the best looking, he also proved how good he
was at team work at the first part of his
interview (in the kitchen). I hope you won the
whisky Kieran.
Congratulations to Fr Kevin and his golfers.
Teresa Mynett |
Oh, yes! and what was brewing up in the kitchen?
Have you seen the golf report?

Bernard,
I would like to reply to Sr. Michaela's email.
Dear Sr. Michaela,
I appreciate how helpful it will be for new
students at St. Bernard's to be able to log on to
our new web site - but it will be even better for
me! Just imagine all those eager young students
from year 7 knocking at the Presbytery door
seeking knowledge and information which has
previously been quite difficult to come by and
you will get the picture!! I for one am
absolutely over the moon with the new site and my
late September early Octobers will never be the
same!
Deo Gratias Best wishes, Kieran |
I wouldn't dare comment on this one !!
19/5/03
I was directed here by a well loved member of my
family, the lovely Gemma Meik. I notice her
comments about a mug shot and think I shall also
keep my beauty or lack of it under cover.
Sadly I am not from outside the UK but from the
City of Sunderland whose football followers are
sad at the moment. You have a lovely site and I
look forward to visiting again and again.
Love the photos of the Stations and hope to see
the real things when we come to see Gem,and
Ron and all the rest of the family.
Hello and good wishes to those of your parish
that I know.

Dear Webmaster
Where has the participation of our special needs
groups gone from the parish? E.g. monthly masses,
occasional get-togethers and Lourdes reunions.
It would be nice for these to be revived.
Ray |
Hi, Ray, I remember
taking photos for several years round at your home when
you threw special care barbies in your garden.
It seemed to stop after Fr. Clarke left. Teresa, who
writes to us, might be able to update us. It's a shame if
it has fallen through as it was wonderful to see the
delight on the children's faces at the party. Could it
not be held in the club? Any suggestions anyone? - B
Hello
Webmaster
I have enjoyed having a browse around
your site. I was told about it by a friend called
Betty. I can also recognise some of the names in
the web page. I am mailing from N.S.W.,

don't we deserve to have our picture put
up?????????
Can I have the chocolates?
Mental Monkey. |
Dear Mental, Sorry but the draw closed on the
18th. though there is a comp, on at the moment as you can
see from the link at the top. Try and round up enough
stuff and we could do a Servers Page; you all play an
important part in the Church and should be represented on
our web site.- B
Hello
again Webmaster,
Just can't keep away ! This is to second my
good friend Ray's request for renewed
participation for the Special Needs group - I
also attended all the wonderful barbies Mary and
Ray were kind enough to host in their home for
years. Over to you TERESA ! I'll
watch this space

| Good to hear
from you again, Gemma, I really enjoyed those
barbies! - B |
Dear Parishioners of Langley,
Congratulations on your website. We are contemplating putting up one here in
Dunstable and I will get our people to visit yours and nick ideas. Every
blessing,
Kieran Magovern PP Dunstable.
|
Dear
Fr. Magovern, thank you for e-mail. I'm only learning
this web design lark as I go along but I'll certainly
offer my twopence worth to help any of your team get your
site up and running. Don't commitee yourself to a
professional web designer's fees - come back to me first.
Thanks, Bernard.
22/5/03
Thank you for letting me win the prize,I have not
won anything since 1966 when I won a purple
umbrella.I think I better have the whiskey,not
for myself ,you understand, but for all the people
who come to my house and want a drink. On the
other subject of our good looking parish
worker,he is pretty cute, but have you seen his
brother in-law ? Absolutely gorgeous!,
kind regards,
Catherine Franke |
Congratulations,
Catherine. Hopefully, your luck has changed. And - no, we
haven't seen his brother in law.Send us a photo
and we'll let the Great Guestbook Viewers decide.

Hello to Dawn Magloire who just wanted a mention.
22/5/03
We are very impressed with your website
We are also friends of many years with Fr Kevin
when he was at St Augustines Parish in High
Wycombe. We have been living in New Zealand for
16 years now but have kept in touch, in fact he
visited us here in 1999.
We will visit your website often to get the
latest news and photos, and we would like to know
if we enter the competition who is paying our
fare to collect all the prizes?
All the best to the Parishioners Holy

Thank you for your very welcomed e-mail. If you
ever do win a prize I wouldn't mind delivering it in
person. I wonder if I could claim it on expenses? Write
again soon - B
24/5/03
Dear Webmaster,
Who pulled the last draw out of the hat?
I have a conflict of interests when it
comes to the best looking brother-in-law in
Langley so I will reframe from voting on that one
. I am passing this web site on to my parish
priest as I know he will find it very interesting
, congratulations on a great page.
All from down under
Jenni Epping NSW Australia. |
Jenni, I'm think of
starting a special 'Behind the Kitchen Door' page dealing
exclusively with the exceedingly complex life of one
Kieran McKeown. And the first question, Kieran
Q: Who is Jennifer?
A: Hi Bernard - this is yet another of my sister in laws!
Catherine who won the whiskey is another!! I think I will
go into early retirement! Or change my name? What do you
think? Kieran.
Please don't retire, Kieran.
Too many little hearts out there will be broken.
24/5/03
WOW!!! Fabulous! Great! I'm talking about last
night's cabaret show. It was very enjoyable
(WHEN's THE NEXT ONE?).
These are the kind of things we need to bring
every body in the parish together and let
themselves go once and a while.
Well done Paul Conlon (Vice chair of Holy Family
Club) for bringing this together.
Parishioners You Don't What Your Missing!!!
From a very good supporter of the parish.
B.F. |
Dear B.F. Thank you for
your comments. I was in a group of six at the show and
all of them praised it. I was particularly impressed with
the comedian, who told plenty of risqué jokes yet put
them across in a controlled, edited style suitable for
the type of audience and location. I hope we can get them
back again soon. Anyone else at the show who would like
to comment?- B
Dear
Webmaster,
John and Audrey Knight are my brother and Sister
in law! I'm sure they wouldn't mind if I ate the
chocolates. It would save sending them to
Australia!
With every hope,
Kieran |
Kieran, Your thoughtfulness and
consideration knows no bounds. I'm sure John & Audrey
will appreciate this gesture to save us money.
(By the way, has anyone bought the prizes yet?)
26/5/03
Hey Bernard who would have seen this.
Run the contest again with the same prize,&
exclude overseas entrants. I am sure that the
freight differential would blow the budget, or be
worth more than the prize itself, unless my
family have indulged in my winnings already. Mind
you, had I won the grog, I would have insisted on
delivery!
Cheers J & A K |
The lines between Langley and Perth
were buzzing to-day. Betty tells me our Church is very
special because her family attends Mass there. John
tells me that he lives in Perth but his hometown is
Sydney. Thank you for all the photo links, John, I'll be
making use of them.- B

Hi All
Wonderful site
Especially love the links to other sites eg,
History of Slough. Havent had time to
look at it all yet? Have u a link to the
Slough Museum they do wonderful work
there. Jo Follett the Curator is amazing.
Many thanks.
Will view again shortly.
Carmel OBrien just an ordinary
parishioner |
Thank you for your e-mail, Carmel, and you're
not an ordinary parishioner anymore. Ordinary
parishioners don't write to guestbooks. And you are
right, Slough Museum should have a link. I have now added
it to the menu page. Write back soon again. - B
28/5/03
What a nice idea to have a Parish website.
I was a parishioner from 1964 to 1983 - and often
visit as Dad is still there, at mass most days
(Eamon Hand!) Made my communion,
confirmation and got married in the church, and
many of the family have had their children
baptised there as well.
My first job was in the "Club" on the
children's bar at about 14 years old, and I went
to Holy Family school - first in Common Road,
then in High Street, and onto St Bernards.
Good luck with the website,
Elaine Hand |
Dear
Elaine, thank you for your very nice e-mail. I don't know
your father personally but the rest of the gang here knew
him instantly. It's still the early days of our website
and hopefully we'll build it up over the months. Write
again soon. - B
28/5/03
Hi There!
Just a short hello from the Central Coast of NSW
Australia. Have entered your site on the
suggestion of Betty and John Knight from
Noraville nearby to us. A very good photo of
our local Tugerah Lakes area on your site, well
worth a visit sometime. Will explore your website
to the full and respond soon. Very interested in
your local golf news.
Happy Days to you all !
Bill & Sheila From Down Under
|
Hi,
Bill & Sheila, nice to have you on board. Thank you
for taking the time to write to us and I hope you'll keep
in touch. The whole Tugerah Lakes area seems real nice.
When I read your letter an hour ago I started hunting for
a web site and got completly wrapped up in the stuff I
was reading on the sites. Now I have to panic to meet my
deadline. I suggest all readers browses this site: click here I do
hope you keep in touch.
28/5/03
Dear Webmaster
I agree that Kieran is the cutest, best-looking,
kindest........Parish Worker - certainly the best
one we've had so far!
When is the next Penitential service to be held?
I think I have some porky-pies to confess!
Ann
PS I am collecting photos from UCM members
and putting together information for our webpage.
Watch this space! |
Oh no! Just when I thought we had moved on...... Ann,
I want you to forget about parish workers, good, bad or
ugly and concentrate on that web page - B.
29/5/03
Dear Webmaster,
I don't want to keep carping on about the
Tuggerra Lakes on the Central coast of New South
Wales but they're just the place to catch prawns
and to go water-skiing.( Catherine says also the
best place to catch a wife). The prawns are just
so sweet and delicious, just like the girls from
the Central Coast.
Regards from the most gorgeous one in the family,
Ted
Proof can be provided if required, as soon as
suitable photographer can be found who can catch
me in the best light. |
Sorry,
Ted, Bernies Babes demand to see a photo ASAP.
So, Catherine says that Tuggerra Lake is a good place to
catch a wife. I caught mine at the River Bann. If only it
could have been the one that got away!! Whereas
your ladies are like prawns - sweet and delicious, mine
is like a crab - once they get their claws into you
there's no letting go. Better stop now, she's about to
hit me with a wet kipper
2/6/03
Dear Father
We have taken your advice and indeed wish to
comment on how much you have done for the Parish
since you have joined. Its like a breath of
fresh air.
The paintings on the Stations of the Cross are
super. I better get off the computer now,
Father as I have to pay 1p a minute, but not
beofre we send our love to Father Stan and Kieran
as well.
God bless and keep the good work up
Love and keep us in your prayers.

Mr Stanley,
How is it when you and your mate are on duty at
the club, both of your ladies win at BINGO?
I THINK there is something is going on. OLD BINGO
PLAYER |
Dear
O.B.P. That was no lady you saw me with at the bingo,
that was my wife.
Isn't it sad. The word that gets her all a quiver now is 'HOUSE'
.Twenty years ago the word was, 'READY!'
Only joking, I've got the best wife in Berkshire - the
other one's in Bucks. Hopefully the Ray
& Bernie Bingo show will be back soon though with
all that male caller glamour, it must be hard for the
ladies to keep those 'eyes down'.

Hello Father Kevin,
Hope you are well. Excellent website. Please find
latest photo of buttonnose.
God bless and take care,
All our love,

Dear
Peggy, Angela and Buttonnose, Thank you for your e-mail.
Hopefully Fr. Kevin will pick this up soon. By the way,
you'll have to re-send Buttonnose as it didn't arrive.
Write soon again.

It's nice to see a lively and interesting web
site on the parish. Well done Webmaster.
Father Kevin, I was very disappointed to learn of
the break-in, I hope it hasn't upset you and
Father Stan too much.
God bless.
Anita Mitchell |
Many
thanks, Anita. As soon
as Father Kevin gets himself back on line he'll bring us
all up to date with the news - B

I can't help but feel sad when I read all these
emails about fishing.
Ah well ignorance is bliss but modesty forbids!
Just goes to show that English TV hosts should
stick to what they know, (not much about fish I
assume).
Would you like some stories & photos of a
real fishing trip? When at the end of the day you
get to feed the whole community, not just some
post natal half starved village cat?
With fear of starting a new wave of migration,
perhaps I should refrain.
JK (from Perth) |
Well, tough words there from John and HELLO
PERTH. Nice to hear from you again. And if you've
got the time - we've got the space - B

Hi Kieran,
Just checking out your website which is excellent
and must be the best in the Diocese
so far, -( ours is in production!!).Kind regards.
Tracy.
|
Hi, Tracy. Thank you for your e-mail. Hopefully
Kieran will read this - though, come to think of it, he
has been very quiet recently - and his gang of young
ladies, too! Whats going on out there? Keep us up to
speed on your website progress.
From; John Knight, Perth.
If you want to
go for a fishing trip to this part of the world,
just let me organise it!
God Bless,

On a recent trip over to England to see My Family I attended Sunday mass.
(June 1st 2003) The last time I visited your Church was when My Son, Kieran Michael
Moran was baptised six years ago.
I told My Mum and Sister Bernadette I would visit your website back home in America.
Thanks to all.
PS, Love the stations of the cross.

Hi Fr Kevin, Fr Stan and Kieran
I have finally logged on to the web site and I
am really impressed. Everyone has done
a great job.
Kieran is it true they are going to have to widen
the church doors?

Fr Kevin, Kieran, Bernard and all involved in the
website, What a brilliant website!
Very informative - the history pages facinated me
- I can just about remember Fr Crawfurd and have
fond memories of Fr Langley.
The website is so easy to navigate and the rotas
being available on line are great.
Especially for Church Cleaning - the date of my
next cleaning turn seems to always slip my mind -
no excuse anymore, is there! Being able to read
about the new Stations of the Cross paintings and
the Artists ideas was really thought provoking.
My lunch hour at work just flew by!
Well done to all involved.
Kind Regards Ann Gaffney |
Dear Ann, Thank you for your kind remarks. When
Kevin handed me all the history papers I though I'd die
of boredom working on it. Instead I ended up completely
fascinated with it all, particularly handling all the
original material. It might be worth considering having a
little corner somewhere in the Church devoted to a museum
of the past.
Readers, if any of you have any old stuff about
our local past get in touch with us, please- Bernard
12/6/03
Dear webmaster,
Is it possible to have a counter on this site,so
we can see how many people visit the site?
It was lovely to see Fr Stan out on his bike and
enjoying the sunshine, maybe he could run a keep
fit class ,for those not so fit people of the
parish!
yours sincerely, Catherine franke |
Dear Catherine, I hadn't
put a counter on the site at the start because I thought
it wouldn't have gone beyond 2 - my visit and Fr.
Kevin's. However, I will start one going soon to try and
get monthly totals. Father Titmarsh Stan is
certainly hyperactive at the moment, what with his health
kick and amazing gardening skills.

Subject: Church bulletins
Thank God for church ladies with typewriters.
These sentences actually appeared in church
bulletins or were announced in church services:
Bertha Belch, a missionary from Africa,
will be speaking tonight at Calvary Methodist.
Come hear Bertha Belch all the way from Africa. |
Dear Elizabeth, When I
started to edit your e-mail for the web site I was
actually laughing out loud at each entry. They are very,
very funny and I beseech everyone to go to our fun page
and read Elizabeth's material.
Please Elizabeth, and everyone, keep this stuff rolling
in - Bernard

Just a quick note to say I am relatively new to both the church and Catholicism
- app 2 years.
I feel I must say that the new stations are fantastic works of art. Every time I attend
mass I think how lucky we are to have friends like Ken ,Maureen , and Mary Lou,
who have painted these beautiful stations for the benefit of all who visit our church.
Thanks to FR Kevin Kieran and the very talented artists .

HOLA ! from LA NUCIA, Costa Blanca, Spain
Hola Holy Family, Its great here but what's
even bettrer is to keep in touch regularly with

our wonderful webpage - thank you Webmaster !
Have been here at our hide-away for the past week
and are looking

- Y O L A N D A !
We plan to motor from here to LOURDES for a brief
visit and will
keep ALL our dear Holy Family friends in our
prayers and hope they
will also remember us as we have a ten hour drive
either way.
Will take plenty of piccies. and bore you
with them on our return.
Hope all are well, much love thoughts and prayers

Ever cheerful Fr.Stan, 'CUDDLES' Social worker

Hi, Buenas noches,
senora Gemma. Is El Bernardo, the webmastero from the
Costa Da Langley eating his little heart out with
jealousy. Oh to be anywhere in Spain, from Blanes to
Barcelona. Have a great time and get us some photos to
publish on your return - B &
the gang.
A very special thank you to
Elizabeth Stock from the Windy city for the stuff you
have sent me. Elizabeth, you have obviously spent a lot
of time searching for the material and I will be adding
it in bits to our Family Page. Thank you very much. I've
just pasted in 'The Bible in
50 Words', a brilliantly
crafted piece that sums the bible up. Oh, if only they
could invent the 50 word sermon. (present priests
excepted).

Dear Bernard
Did you enjoy your visit to the UCM meeting on
Thursday? I noticed that you didn't join in
any of the exercises or singing! Perhaps
you were disappointed that we were not all clad
in our leotards?
Better luck next time!
We will seriously consider your suggestion of a
UCM Calendar (like the famous Wi one) but perhaps
we had better wait until we've had more exercise
sessions.
Ann Budd |
Ann, those leotards appeared in my
dreams later. I pictured you all wearing them at our
Christmas Calander shoot. You had all turned into a group
of Jane Fonda lookalikes. Poor Donna was trying to keep
up as I led the team in a pluse racing series of advanced
gymnastics. I could feel the burn - or was it pain? Yes,
it was pain. The wife was elbowing me in the ribs;
"Oi, It's Friday. Time to get up and put the bin
out!" UCM
24/6/03
Dear Holy Family,
Thank you for putting the First Communion
photographs on the internet. We live in Ayr and
it was great to see my little grandson on the
screen. Are we allowed copies of them.
Joan Griffiths |
Dear Joan, Thank you for your e-mail
and Hello Scotland. If there's anyone else
reading this North of the Border drop us a line.
Joan, I actually took the photos so there is no problem
about copyright, etc. Download and print them as much as
you want. However, the photo quality of a web photo has
to be greatly reduced otherwise it would take for ever to
download onto your screen. e-mail me a discription of the
photo(s) you like and I'll e-mail you back a high quality
copy of them - or if your not into the printing scene let
me have your address and I'll post you an actual print.
Thanks, Bernard.
25/6/03
Hola once more Webmaster from LA NUCIA ! Sheer
excitement and delight touch of regret too, makes
me return this time - how marvellous to see all
my UCM friends on the web !
CONGRATS. G I R L S , you all look
marvellous.
Can't wait to be back to-morrow !?
Love Gemma. |
Just wait 'til you see them in their Christmas
Calander, Gemma. Hope you had a great holiday and let us
have all the details and a few pics as well - B
26/6/03
Dear Webmaster
Demanding chocolates ... telling "porky
pies" ... planning for the Christmas
calendar ... surely that can't be my
mother cavorting around in that scarlet dress? I
don't know ... grandmothers nowadays ...
Yours sincerely,
Marion Budd |
Yes Marion, that's the same lady.And there's
a whole gang of them all bursting with energy and
life, so if there are any ladies reading this who
are not involved with the UCM get in touch with
them now. They'll certainly put a bit of zest
back into your life.
I think when we start shooting the Christmas
Calandar, you and all other relations of the team
better go and lie down in a dark room. Though I
suppose we'll all be excommunicated by then
anyway - B |
And once again, many thanks to Elizabeth Stock
for her Kids in Church submission. It's in our Family
Page. Thanks for all your stuff, Elizabeth, I'll print another one in a few days.
6/7/03
Dear Fathers:
I congratulated you for the excellent idea of
having a web site. I consider it will be so
useful to if you include a space for prayers, for
example, to pray and meditate the rosary, or to
include the sites of the readings of weekly
masses, it can help to pray from home to people
like me, that would like to attend mass everyday
but because my daily obligations it is not
possible.
I am the mother of two children and I stay at
home all day long. I am from Costa Rica, and I am
married to a Muslim Jordanian.
Thanks and God bless you.
Mercedes Rivera. |
Dear Mercedes, Thank you for your
e-mail. I do intend over the next few weeks to search out
sites that can offer us some peaceful pages to read and
meditate over. Our regular site visitor, Elizabeth, has
already sent me a beautiful site that I will try and link
up to soon. On our welcome page, have you browsed through
our 'interesting sites'? If any readers have any special
sites of their own please e-mail them to me.
Mercedes, why don't you and the readers send us in your
favourite prayers, verses, stories, etc. Things that mean
a lot to you and will make the rest of us think. We can
start a special page for them.- Bernard

Hello! How are you all?
Kieran, our fellow lead guitarist, I hope you
observe that we have taken time to look at the
site - when's our picture going to be published?
We are heroes after all...honestly, bottling out
of your second 'gig' of the day. Nice of you to
trust us though!
We know we're good, but it simply isn't the same
without a decent guitar being played.....can we
have it? Actually, why don't you start playing
the electric guitar? you'd look good with a
Fender Strat....I'm sure Fr.s Kevin and Stan
won't mind!
respect! Rock on!

P.S Great site! (Got sidetracked...sorry!) |
Thank you for your e-mail, Sam &
Liam. I didn't want to publish the photo of the group
this week because there is a lot of site activity at the
moment as everyone is downloading confirmation photos.
Plus, even as you read this, Kieran is feverishly
assembling lot's of juicy facts about the group for a
special page feature. Check back here Sunday, 27th.
Kieran hasn't seen this e-mail before this publication,
so he'll probably reply personally. - B

The Alternative Quiz? : Family Fun Page:
Very entertaining, yet mind boggling at the same
time. I may have a few more questions of interest
to you.
Keep up the good work!
Regards,
Sam Brophy |
Thank
you Sam. I've added your question to the Alternative Quiz
list. If you, or any readers have any more of the same, please send them in.

Hi, dear webmaster Bernard,
Finally we came face to face at the Confirmation
Service yesterday and perhaps like
myself you thought, YES, I KNOW YOU WELL
! Off and on through the passing years
mainly at Mary and Ray's annual barbi's Anyway,
here I am this time back from Spain with just a
few pictures as I feel sure many of your readers
will be delighted to see Yolanda, who is Fr.
Dominic Rafferty's Aunt, now residing in Dunbar,
Scotland, but a regular visitor, down our way,
especially at Pilgrimage times to Lourdes from
Holy Family.
I have mentioned in previous email that she came
with Ron and I to Lourdes when we motored from La
Nucia to Lourdes for a couple of heavenly days.
Naturally we remembered ALL our Holy Family
Priests, friends and Webmaster - that's a
promise.
'Bye for now and I hope that I'm not taking up
too much of your precious time and space.
Love to All, Gemma. |
Gemma,
you can have all the space and
time you want on this web site. Thank you very much for
your photos. To see them, click on the link. However, as
a friend I would offer you a piece of advice. Give up
that Villa now. Too much sun, sea and sangria is bad for
you. I'll swap you that villa for a 3 bedroom terrace
house in Stanley Green. I won't ask for a penny extra.
Instead of all that silly fresh air and stillness, you
could have the constant vibration of Heathrow jets
roaring off overhead to Spanish resorts, and a Berkshire
air subtly tinged with the unique tang of aircraft fuel.
You could still lie back in bed at night and look up at
the stars. Granted, they'd be British stars and you'd be
looking at them through the hole in our ceiling, but it's
well worth thinking about. - Bernard.

What a fantastic coverage of Bob's Birthday bash,
thank you for taking the smallest member's

Well done again and a special thank you for
Jasmine's Christening, all who came had a
very good day. Jasmine would like to
thank everyone for their lovely gifts and

Thank you both for you very kind
comments and I'm sure I speak for all club members who

what we can see when we're altar servin'

Hi, Lois. I'm trying to get the altar
servers to put something together for this site, rather
than just a boring old group photo. Probably some sort of
humorous theme. Get your heads together - have a good
think about it and we'll try and do something over the
next few weeks.

I can't believe its taken me so long to look
at this fab website.
I suppose I spend too much time in the kitchen
cooking! ( those of you who know me
well know I can tell porkie pies as well as
Ann Budd!) This morning at 9.30 mass was the last
'music' mass until the end of summer. I will
really miss the fantastic singing and music.
Bravo to all of you and dont forget to come back

instead !

Dear Bernardette, Thank
you for your e-mail, nice to have you on board. The music

then maybe someday soon I'll be able to add sound to it.
See you at the picnic. - B

July.
I am sitting at my daughter Bernadette's computer
looking at the website.
I have been living in Langley for nearly two
years. I joined the club and met lots of nice
people and and enjoy going to the Club on
Sunday nights .
Everyone is very friendly and I have been made
very welcome .. and the dancing and music are
great.
Thanks to all of you.
P.S. I agree that the parish worker is cute !

What a very
kind letter. Thank you very much Josephine and I hope you

happening - and we've slashed 25% off a lot of the bar
prices. See details in our club pages. One fatal mistake

statements children made about the Bible very funny. Look

Hello Holy Family,
Greetings from Portugal. This is a lovely country
and we will certainly visit it again sometime.
The people are very friendly.
Our villa is right up in the hills overlooking
the sea. There is a little village bus that
always turns up on time and the trains are always
running - despite the heat.
There are very bad forest fires up in the North
and Midlands of the country.
Anyway, must go - they're all ready for another
session on the beach.
Ray, Mary & family and Vi. |
It was nice to get this reassuring e-mail
from committee man Ray and the gang sunning themselves in
sunny Portugal. We had all been keeping an eye on those
fires. It still seems amazing to me that we have the
technology to put man on the moon; we can build a device
that could wipe out half the planet, yet we cannot devise
an efficient method of coping with fire.

Bernard,
Another one which might be suitable for the
website !!!

By the time the Lord made woman,
he was into his sixth day of working overtime.....Wow! Wow! I've just read this
stuff. Talk about female chauvinistic. There's a
notable absence of a certain gentleman's name to your

the male version of this story. Anyway, my little
rottweiler has just slapped me around the ear and told me
to publish it - so it's in the family fun page.
Thanks, Anita

Dear Webmaster,
I've just read that the Christmas Bazaar has been
cancelled. Why? Having been involved with it over
the years I know that it pulls in over £2,500,
with half of the profit going to the Church. This
is only a few weeks after we were told that the
parish is in the red by £200,000. There's
something seriously wrong somewhere.
Anybody else out there with any views?
Very Concerned Parishioner. |
Thank
you for your letter. That's a scarey amount of money we
owe. Yes, it does seem strange that the Bazaar has been
cancelled. Christmas won't be Christmas without it.
Anyhow lets see what our readers opinions are?
24/8/03
Bernard, Excellent web site. I must look you out
some good jokes (Clean ones)
By the way, do you know of anyone who can tell me
the difference between a Crank Shaft and a Cam
Shaft? There must be someone in the club who
know's the difference!
Keep up the good work.
P. Ekrub |
Don't I
know you from somewhere? Thank you for your kind comments
and I'm sure your question will be answered soon. All
sorts of material welcomed (see below) -B

In answer to Mr P Ekrub, he should know that the
camshaft is at the top and the crankshaft is at
the BOTTOM !!!!!

I used
to know what was going on in this page, now I'm lost!
I'll blame it on the heat.X
28/8/03
I too am disappointed that the Christmas Bazaar
has been cancelled. Surely if it's just a case of
no one being interested in helping, it could have
been advertised in the Church for volunteers. I'm
sure there would have been enough people come
forward. I hope it's not too late to rescue it.
Grace |
Thank
you for your e-mail, Grace. I'm not involved in those
sort of decisions to make a comment. Hopefully we'll get
an official reply. - B
31/08/03
Hi again Webmaster,
Given you a little 'space' recently but would
like to put in my humble comments about the
cancellation of the Parish Bazaar.
I too have been involved with this annual event
for years in fact it's been a 'family MUST', but
I do feel that a short 'breather' might be a good
thing to make it more worth while financially as
the proceeds have been down for the past three
years and I shouldn't think would affect the
Parish funds in any way.
In any case any profit as I recall goes to other
deserving charities. So lets make a great
effort with the Raffle instead this year as even
this seems to have lost some appeal !
God Bless us ALL.
Gemma Meik. |
It's nice to hear from you again, Gemma. Thank
you for your comments. Will I see you at the picnic in
the park today?
4/9/03
Dear Bernard
On behalf of the parish I would like to thank the
Sisters at St. Bernard's for their hospitality
last Sunday. As you said in your report, it was
hard to believe that we were enjoying our parish
picnic in beautiful surroundings as the life of a
busy town went on around us.
Thanks also to the Euden and Meaney families who
organised the day and all those who attended. I
have a feeling that next year's picnic will be
even bigger and better. The pictures you
provided, Bernard, are wonderful.
Congratulations. Fr. Kevin |
Thank you, Father. It was a brilliant
idea to try a parish picnic and it certainly worked. It
was a lovely day in a lovely setting and was incredibly
relaxing. My blood pressure went down three points and my
waistline went up three inches due to the tasty snacks
provided for our group by our friend Anita. Here's to the
next one!
| 11/09/03 Hello Mr Webmaster!
I have noticed your poems in the Daily Mail -
congratulations!
Thought I'd write to say an 'official thank you'
to Father Kevin (and the lovely Kieran) for
organising the Parish Picnic and the trip to
Stonor. Both occasions were very enjoyable.
I am quite happy about a raffle instead of a
Christmas Bazaar. No more cakes to bake and
sell. I'll be much happier buying raffle
tickets.
I'm still trying to slim for the Calendar date -
am going to see the film to get some tips!
Very best wishes
Ann Budd
|
Sussh, Ann,
I didn't want you all to know it; That I was such a
little poet! I'm glad you enjoyed the picnic and
Stonor. I would have loved to have gone on the trip but I
was working. Yes, the calendar shoot is looming. Do you
want to be any particular month? July - hot & bubbly
or September - mellow & mild or... I better stop now,
Fr. Kevin's lifting his editing pen....B.

(publishable ones only, please!)
Actually, Mary may have triggered off an idea for a birthday
page for personal greetings, photos, etc. If I get
one or two more similar messages, I'll start one.

Dear Bernard,
I can hardly contain my excitement regarding
our wonderful UCM's Calandar! If you need
any help on the day of the shoot I'm sure Fr.
Kevin would release me for a while!! Perhaps we
could start a new competition - ask people to
suggest which member of the UCM should pose for a
particular month and why.
I have to agree with Ann, Stonor and the Parish
Picnic were wonderful occassions - hope we have
more like them!
Best wishes, Kieran |
Kieran;
re the Unique Calendar Models,
formally know as the Union of Catholic Mothers. There are
not many positions left in the production side of this
shoot. I could offer you Makeup Supervisor. Most of the
men in the parish have already volunteered as Assistant,
Set supervisor, Film Loader, Director &
Wardrobe control (that'll be an easy job!). All we need
now is the cast. So come on ladies. Claim your month now.
Tell us what month you want to be - and why. UCM fans out
there - who would be your Model of the Month? A
special version of the calendar autographed by the models
will go to the best replies. The only
remaining requirement will be a nurse - to administer my
sedatives during the shoot and help me back to a dark
room to lie down afterwards. UCM
Dear Mr
Webmaster!
Please, please, please - let me be December (save
the best until last!). I am already
searching for the biggest Father Christmas cloak
I can find!
Cheers,
Ann Budd |
Right,
we're off. One down, eleven to go. Thank you Ann. You can
come down my chimney any day. Hurry ladies, book your
month now!

Dear Webmaster Bernard,
PLEASE thank Mary and Ray for the most welcome
though surprising Birthday Wishes for YOUNG Ron
Meik. No pictures yet as we were going to
celebrate in LA NUCIA (remember?) but our 'little
dog' - also well known to many Parishioners for
her lovely good nature, like the owners ???!!!
has been very sick and we had to put everything
on hold until she was better. She is
getting on well now thank God ... not such good
news for our Holy FAMILY friends ?!
We are hoping to get away later on in the month
with the 'in-laws' (good news!) We really have a
great time and I feel sure I can let you have
some interesting piccies. Watch this space
!
Thank you for your endless patience letting me
pop up persistently in your very interesting
Guest Book pages, but I truly am a great fan
! God Bless you.
RON MEIK's Gemma ! |
Thank
you for your nice e-mail, Gemma, and I look forward to
publishing some pics. I wonder if I could borrow your
pool in La Nucia to do |
