On Bank Holiday Monday, Fr Kevin celebrated a farewell Mass for popular personality Maureen Hancock who is going back to her homeland in Ireland.

Shortly after she had gained a degree in Biology Maureen came over to England about 1940 where she taught at Gravesend, then Cardiff and eventually Stoke-on-Trent.
This was where she met Hank. The couple got married in Reading in 1946 and moved to Wexham Road, Slough

They had twin daughters Mary and Pauline and later a few years later another daughter Madelaine.
In 1956 they moved to a house in London Road, Langley.

Maureen worked at St. Bernards Convent, then St. Ethelberts Annex, and then St. Josephs. In 1961 she went back to St. Bernards and worked in The Prep until she retired.

Maureen and Hank were at the opening of the Holy Family Church in 1957.
