Fr. Kevin's New Year's Message for 2006
We had a good Christmas in the parish.
The Carol Service, our Services of Reconciliation, the farewell Mass for Mrs. Nuala Abercrombie and our Christmas Masses each had their own special atmosphere.
I thank everybody who had a part to play...it is to your credit.
Fr. Stan and I thank you for your Christmas offering. As we now look forward to 2006 and ask God’s blessings we hope to undertake some major work on our church.

During this week we have a meeting with the Diocesan authorities to see if they will give their permission for the work they have in mind.

Once the meeting is over I will carefully keep you in touch with all the plans .On February 2nd 2007 we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the church. It is our aim to have on that day a church that is cleaner, brighter, more welcoming and inspiring. I think it is what we deserve and what we need in order to face the future.

As well as excitement, I think there is a some sadness in us too as we look towards this new year . The Bernardine Sisters will be leaving Slough at some stage during 2006 and I don’t think you need me to tell you what a loss that will be for us. But more of that later!
A very happy new year to you all.

Fr. Kevin
