A successful past history........
Liam receives coveted
Jack Petchey Adward

On Wednesday, 14th February,2007,
Liam received a surprise when the
Right Reverent Bishop Alan Hopes, Auxiliary Bishop Archdiocese of Westminster presented him with the
Jack Petchey Achievement Award for January.

Liam received this award because he has made a significant contribution to the school community.
He is acknowledged by the school as a responsible, reliable and loyal student and has represented the school as a core member of the "At Your Word Lord" group.

The Jack Petchey Foundation,
established in 1999, gives grants to programmes and projects that benefit
young people aged 11 - 25.
The Foundation is eager to help young people take advantage of opportunities and play a full part in society.

Liam also played a significant part in the
Team Enterprise Programme
that was awarded the
"Best Overall Company in
Hillingdon and Hounslow".

He performs all his tasks in a most
diligent manner.

He always volunteers to participate in extra-curricular activities and is currently following an accredited course in Signalong.

His school reports that Liam,
who is in year 14
is a courteous, friendly and
helpful student and an
excellent role model for his peers.

He leaves Pield Heath this July
and is hoping to go on
to college.

Pield Heath House R.C. School : Uxbridge

The school was founded in 1901, at the invitation of the Archbishop of Westminster, by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mary.
Today, over 100 years later, it is still run by the Sisters.
The school is recognised by the Department of Education.

HOLY FAMILY SPONSORED WALK AT VIRGINIA WATER

In April, 2005 Liam joined a team from Holy Family in a
sponsored walk around Virginia Water in Surrey.

This grueling two circuit walk was to raise money to support some
of its young people attending the World Youth Day being held
in Cologne later that year.

Fr. Kevin recognised the enthusiasm and energy in Liam and
invited him to become part of the small youth group
going to Cologne.

World Youth Day 2005
Every 3 years, the Church invites young people from all across the world to get together in a designated city, to meet each other, to have a laugh, to hear from the bishops and cardinals that are gathered there, to pray together, and to attend a special vigil and celebration Mass with the Pope.

The Holy Family group going to Cologne with Liam were

In July, 2006,
this time in his role of altar server he assisted at the celebration
of Mass with Bishop Peter in the grounds of St. Bernard’s Convent
to mark the Life of the Bernardine Cistercian Sisters in Slough.

Bishop Alan, who had presented Liam with his Jack Petchey award and had earlier administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to a group of other Pield Heath children also gave him a £300 Petchey cheque  to purchase items from the school's "Wish List"

Liam also received a small personal cheque for himself
and is pictured here with
some of his proud family.

This young man has an incredible zest for life.
