Holy Family Parishioner
receives Papal Award

Christine Harlow who has been a parishioner of Holy Family for almost thirty years has been awarded a Papal Bene Merenti Medal for her services to Education. Before she retired last year, Christine was the Head of St Anthony's Primary School in the Diocese of Northampton and Slough LEA.
Christine is an active parishioner and is currently one of our choir leaders. Some of the choir joined with Father Kevin to present Christine with her award.

Bene Merenti" literally means,
"well deserved".

It is a Papal decoration conferred on lay and religious people who have in some way rendered distinguished service to the Church.

The medal was instituted by Pope Gregory XVI .
It is a gold medal worn on a ribbon of
white and gold, the papal colours.
