Jesus is Condemned to Death
Pontius Pilate represented Tiberius Caesar,
emperor of Rome and the most powerful man
in the world.
When Pilate said jump the King jumped.
I have tried to show Jesus at his most human –
a young man, in his early 30’s sitting before
Pilate rather bemused, thinking,” I’m about to be
condemned to death, and just for telling people
to love one another”.
